Aurora Richland Chamber of Commerce

Dedicated to the informal science education of the citizens of North Carolina the three buildings house specimens of both minerals and fossils found locally and around the world. Open Monday-Saturday 9-4:30 and also beginning March 1 thru Labor Day Sundays from 12:30-4:30. The museum offers 2 piles of reject in our Pits of the Pungo where you can find your own special fossils.

On display is a selection of marine fossils local and international including the megalodon tooth which was the largest shark that inhabited our oceans. Minerals from around the world are also on display and 2 Pits of the Pungo where you can dig for your own unique fossil find. One building is available for meetings and lectures. Rotating exhibits from other facilities will be coming.

The Hazel W. Guilford Memorial Library is a branch of the Beaufort-Hyde-Martin Regional Library System. Our hours are Monday - Friday 9 to 5 and Saturday 9-12. We offer bestselling books, audiobooks, latest DVDs along with 4 public internet access computers and wireless internet service. Along with programs for children, teens and adults.
